Submission Guidelines

WRITERS, ILLUSTRATORS, PHOTOGRAPHERS & POETS:

We are currently seeking contributions for our print and online journals of dangerous humor, liberated eroticism and informed revolt. Before submitting work for LiP in print, please review our submissions calendar (see below) for themes and deadlines. We accept submissions for online articles on an ongoing basis.

We're always seeking the following kinds of contributions:

Features: Journalism, essays, fiction, erotica & humor
Suggested length: 500 to 5000 words
Reviews: Books, music & film
Suggested maximum word count: Books (2000); music (1000); film (2000)
Artwork and Photography
Review copies / Trades
Books, music in all formats, and videotapes of film you'd like us to review—they're all welcome and encouraged.
Editorial suggestions
We're always interested in hearing suggestions about what we should cover. If you're interested in suggesting anything to us, please email us at info@lipmagazine.org.

GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

All submissions may be sent in electronic format. A two to three paragraph pitch is requested for longer articles and features; fiction, poetry, erotica and reviews may all be simply sent in. For print features, please indicate if the piece is intended for an upcoming theme (see the submissions calendar for themes and submission deadlines).

Text may be submitted in one of the following formats, listed in order of our preference:

A Microsoft Rich Text Format (.rtf), plain text (.txt), or Word (.doc) attachment;
Pasted into the body of an email message;
A double-spaced, single-sided hard copy, printed out using AT LEAST a 12-point type size. (This is a last resort, however.)

Artwork my be submitted in any of the following formats:

Hard copy (We will, of course, try to return artwork upon request, though we cannot guarantee it.)
Electronic format: 300-600dpi in .EPS, .TIFF, or .GIF format, sent as an email attachment (Mac users, please specify MIME, not BinHex for your attachment encoding); Artwork submitted specifically for Web publication may be submitted in .JPG or .GIF format at 72dpi.
